“Bastila Shan” from the soundtrack of Bioware’s Knights of the Old Republic. A beautiful reworking of the Stars Wars theme. 

Makes me wonder if they’re hinting that the Shans are ancestors of the Skywalkers.

The leitmotif you’re hearing there is “the Force theme.” it gets associated with Luke in the original trilogy for obvious reasons, but really, it’s a musical cue to the audience that you’re “talking about” a Jedi. Usually a Jedi who’s about about to make one of those pivotal, life-changing, no-going-back choices, in which the Force is implied to have a significant part.

One of my favorite treatments of this theme happens every time a Republic-side character goes to poke at their navcomp in SWtOR. Check it out here, starting at about 1:15.
